Iowa Institute of Human Genetics awards pilot funding to Wasskink, Bassuk projects

The Iowa Institute of Human Genetics has awarded research grants to fund two innovative pilot projects. These funds are intended for investigators with a career interest in human genetics research. The two applicants will receive $50,000 to conduct their research. The grant recipients for 2013 are:
- Thomas Wassink, MD, professor of psychiatry and pediatrics for "Developing a High-Throughput Mutation Detection Platform for Neuropsychiatric Copy Number Varient Intervals."
- Alexander Bassuk, MD, PhD, associate professor of pediatric neurology for "Exome Sequencing in Consanguineous Epilepsy Pedigrees."
