Minimum:


Prefered Adult minimum: 4.0 mL serum or heparinized or EDTA plasma
Adult minimum: 2.5 mL serum or heparinized or EDTA plasma
Pediatric minimum: 1.5 mL serum or heparinized or EDTA plasma


Rejection Criteria:


Specimens exposed to repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Specimens exposed to 
repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Serum separator and lt. blue (sodium 
citrate) tubes.


Analytic Time:


5 days upon receipt at reference laboratory


Interpretive Data:


Drugs covered: butalbital, amorbarbital, pentobarbital, secobarbital, 
and phenobarbital.

Positive cutoff: 50 ng/mL.
