Collection Medium:
Lavender top tube (EDTA)
Minimum:
Preferred minimum volume:  4 mls whole blood in EDTA tube
Absolute minimum volume:   2 mls whole blood in EDTA tube
Rejection Criteria:
Grossly hemolyzed specimens will be rejected.
Delivery Instructions:
Submit specimen to laboratory as soon as possible after collection.

Instructions:
Collect Monday - Thursday only.
Do not collect before a weekend or holiday.  Specimen must be received 
by referral laboratory within 72 hours of collection.
Analytic Time:
2 weeks
Reference Range:
An interpretive report will be provided.
Interpretive Data:
This real-time quantitative RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase 
Chain Reaction) for the amplification of FIP-PDGFRA fusion transcript 
generates by interstitial deletion of chromosome 4Q12.  It can also be 
used for monitoring the therapy of patients with this FIP-PDGFRA fusion 
transcript.
Comments:
Bone Marrow is also an acceptable specimen collected in EDTA tube.
