Minimum:

Preferred minimum:  5 mL serum from 15 mL of whole blood
Absolute minimum:  4 mL serum from 12 mL of whole blood

Submit specimen to laboratory as soon as possible after collection.

Choose one of the following to be tested:
 1) Heparin dependent platelet antibody to Lovenox, Enoxaparin
 2) Heparin dependent platelet antibody to Porcine (unfractionated
    heparin)

Patient should be off heparin for at least 24 hours.
