Specimen:

Sputum

Minimum:

Early morning deep cough specimen deposited into a sputum cup
containing mucolexx fixative,(obtained from Cytology).
Sputum x 3 (one each morning for three consecutive days).

Analytic Time:

2 days

Reference Range:

The pathologist will provide an interpretative report.

Comments:

The requisition with complete patient history must accompany the 
specimen.  Label specimen container with patient name.  After 1700 
daily, weekends and holidays deliver to Specimen Control (6240 RCP).
