Physician Assistant Studies and Services

Welcome Physician Assistant Class of 2013 - 2015!

On May 22nd the Department of Physician Assistant Studies and Services welcomed their 42nd class.  These students come from California, Colorado, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Oregon, and Wisconsin.  The biographical statistics on this class of 25 students are:  16 female, 9 male; 8 residents, 17 non-residents, average age of 30; cumulative GPA of 3.61 on 168 hours; science GPA of 3.58 on 100 hours; GRE verbal of 159, GRE quantitative of 154, and GRE written of 4.1; and an average of 4,176 direct patient healthcare hours.  This group of students comes to us with all kinds of backgrounds from a position with the NCY Opera Orchestra at Lincoln Center to ballroom dancing.

At the White Coat Ceremony on June 28th, they will be presented with their white coats.  The White Coat Ceremony is held at the beginning of their first year to symbolize the transition from layment to healthcare providers.
