Medical Education Celebration welcomes Dhaliwal's extraordinary diagnoses
Monday, October 21, 2013
All UI Health Care students, faculty, and staff are invited to this year’s Medical Education Celebration on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013. The event will feature a special speaker and an education-focused student and faculty poster session. See information below.
At noon, Thursday, Nov. 7, Gurpreet Dhaliwal, MD, associate professor of clinical medicine at the University of California at San Francisco and Site Director, Internal Medicine Clerkships, San Francisco VA Medical Center, will discuss how to teach and practice effective clinical problem solving. The presentation will take place in Prem Sahai Auditorium (1110A MERF).
Dhaliwal is a clinician-educator at the University of California at San Francisco. He takes his extraordinary skill in diagnosis around the country for entertaining, yet informative lectures that combine poise, humor, a seamless communication of his real-time thinking and his trademark humility. In a late-2012 profile, The New York Times called Dhaliwal “one of the most skillful clinical diagnosticians in practice today,” and juxtaposed his diagnoses alongside complex computer programs to highlight his ability.
Also on Nov. 7, the student and faculty poster session will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the MERF Atrium. Submissions are due by Nov. 1, 2013. To submit a poster, click on this link:
