Celebrate 'Medicine Alumni Homecoming Weekend'

The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine will celebrate homecoming with Medicine Alumni Homecoming Weekend, October 4-5, 2013. The MD Classes of 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993 and 2003 will reunite with the rest of returning UI family for a weekend back on campus.
Beginning on Friday, October 4, Debra A. Schwinn, MD, dean of the Carver College of Medicine, will speak about her vision for interdisciplinary medical education from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Medical Education and Research Facility. Then, at 5:45 p.m., the University of Iowa Homecoming Parade will take place in downtown Iowa City before the Medicine Alumni Social caps the night from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Levitt Center for University Advancement.
On Saturday, October 5, the UI Carver College of Medicine All Alumni Pre-game Tailgate will start at 9:00 a.m. at the Medical Education and Research Facility, leading up to the Hawkeyes’ game against Michigan State at 11:00 am. Finally, the Medicine Alumni Reunion Dinner will be held from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm in the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center to conclude 2013’s homecoming festivities.
