Doc Dash 2013

Registration is open for the 2013 Doc Dash a 5k run/walk hosted by the UI Carver College of Medicine and the Rubin Flocks Learning Community in support of the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic and the University of Iowa Mobile Clinic. Additional support for Doc Dash is provided by many community sponsors. The event begins at 9:00 a.m. on April 6, 2013 with day of registration available by cash or check only beginning at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 8:45 a.m.

Contributions from Doc Dash provide vital support to both the Iowa City Free Medical Clinic and the Mobile Clinic, an interdisciplinary health sciences student organization that seeks to provide free health screening, prevention, education and basic health services to under-served populations in the Iowa City area. Last year’s Doc Dash raised over $13,000 to support of these organizations.

The run/walk begins and ends at the Medical Education and Research Facility (MERF) and welcomes participants of any age. Participants can pick up their race packs from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5th or beginning at 7:00 a.m. on race day, April 6. The top three overall men and women will be recognized, as well as the top three members of each age group with all finishers aged 10 and under receiving a medal.
