Louisa Muscatine High School students visit Klingelhutz lab
Wednesday, April 30, 2014
Students from Louisa Muscatine High School's Comp 2 class attended a University of Iowa Health Care STEM educational experience on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. During their visit, they met with Al Klingelhutz, PhD. The class had read the book, The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, by Rebecca Skloot, so Dr. Klingelhutz showed them HeLa cells under the microscope in his lab (see pictures below). He also gave them information on HPV, the HPV vaccine, cervical cancer, and cell immortalization.
