REU student Lauren Gentles awarded undergraduate research grant at home institution

Lauren Gentles, a senior at the University of Arkansas, is performing research this summer in Dr. Chioma Okeoma's laboratory in the Department of Microbiology at The University of Iowa. She is a participant in the Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) in Microbiology, which receives funding from the National Science Foundation. She also worked with Dr. Okeoma as a participant in the REU during Summer 2012.
Ms. Gentles has been awarded a University of Arkansas Honors College Undergraduate Research Grant. This grant will provide Ms. Gentles and her mentor at the University of Arkansas, Professor Young Min Kwon, with a research stipend as well as funds that will allow her to travel to present her work.
