O'Rourke and Linson take on new responsibilities

Rebecca (Becky) O’Rourke has been appointed to serve as administrator for the Division of Nephrology, and Eric Linson has been appointed administrator for the Division of General Internal Medicine. Both are veterans to the institution and will begin their new duties immediately.

Becky, as many know, has been director of dialysis since February of 2011. In her new position for the division, she will assist interim division director, Dr. Rebecca Hegeman with division finance and management and be the primary point of contact for division administrative questions.

Becky was born and raised in Sigourney, Iowa. She received a bachelor of science in dietetics from Iowa State University in Ames; and masters degrees in health administration and public health from the University of Iowa. Prior to her appointment in dialysis, Becky was assistant to the UIHC CEO.

Becky is a State of Iowa licensed dietitian, a member of the American College of Health Executives, and of the National Renal Administrator’s Association. She is a traveler and, as you might expect, a cook and wellness fan.

Eric is currently the administrator for the UIHC Hospitalist Program, a position he will continue to hold. In his new position, he will provide administrative leadership to the entire division and be the primary point of contact for division questions.

He received a BA in zoology in 1998 from the University of Arkansas. In 2010, he received a MBA in health care management from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.

For ten years Eric was an athletic trainer, spending seven years at the University of Arkansas providing daily care to the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. From 2009 until he joined the staff in the UI Department of Internal Medicine in 2011 he worked with Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas. At Mercy, Eric implemented and launched a new service line, the Mercy Pain Center, and led a multidisciplinary team in development of a new orthopedic joint replacement program.
