Takacs wins at scientific assembly meeting

Michael Takacs, MD, FAAEM, FACEP, clinical associate professor of emergency medicine has been recognized by the American Academy of Emergency Medicine as winner of the Academy's Clinical Diagnostic Case Competition at the group's 20th Annual Scientific Assembly, February 11-15 in New York.
The annual competition features a five minute presentation of an actual case as it appeared in the department followed by a 20 minute discussion of the approach taken, and reasoning which lead to a final diagnosis. Following explanation of the case and approaches taken, the final diagnosis is then presented including its relevance to the field of emergency medicine.
Takacs' case was one of three chosen for presentation during the Scientific Assembly during a preliminary review process. Following presentation of the three cases, Takacs was awarded winner of the competition.
