About Barbara Brown
Barbara Brown has worked for the University of Iowa for more than 25 years and currently provides administrative support for the Curriculum Unit in the Carver College of Medicine. In this role she appoints new hires, authorizes pay increases, processes terminations, and approves bi-weekly payroll. SPs contact her with questions about their checks, accessing their payroll records, and for copies of cases that are being learned. She performs scheduling for Performance-Based Assessment (PBA) exams including learners, cases, rooms, student activities, SP check-lists, and trouble shoots data issues during exams. In addition she manages all supplies used in the clinical suites, ordering materials as needed and making arrangements for adequate linen supplies. In 2010 she (along with Ellen Franklin and Dr. Bergus) was recognized by the President of The University of Iowa for contributing to medical education by introduction and implementation of WebSP to the medical curriculum.
