This page is intended to highlight the accomplishments of former undergraduates from the University of Iowa Department of Biochemistry. It is by no means a comprehensive list, however we continually work to make it so. If you are an alumnus of the department, please be in touch about your current whereabouts - we would love to hear from you! Similarly, if you are familiar with an alumnus and would like to distinguish them on this page, please feel free to email us. All updates may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
As chronicled by Clarence Berg in The University of Iowa and Biochemistry from their Beginnings, the Bachelor's degree programs in the Department of Biochemistry began in 1972. The first degree was granted to William Alan Holden in 1973 (BS). Mr. Holden then went on to receive an MS in 1974 and eventually became a chemist at Rockwell-Collins (then called Collins-Rockwell International) in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
